Description

The rattle is crafted from beech wood. It consists of a handle onto which a ribbed shaft is added. A small wooden plate (feather) spins around the shaft. When the rattle is spun it produces sound.

Note

The rattle (čegrtaljka) was commonly used for two reasons: to scare and chase away birds from fields and vineyards, and to make noise during the Carnival.
