The Collection of Musical Instruments

Description

The whistle flute ćuruminka, a single labial flute, crafted from one piece of wood. Five holes are drilled on the front side. A narrow channel is left for the air which hits the side of the opening from the top.

Note

According to Vojnović Traživuk, the whistle flute ćuruminka is an older instrument which was played on the island of Korčula “...during grape harvest season muleskinners announced their arrival to harvesters” (Vojnović Traživuk, 2015: 13-14).
