The Collection of Musical Instruments
The drum is crafted as one single piece - a wooden hoop and tanned lambskin stretched over it. The sound is produced when the membrane is struck by two beaters.
This instrument accompanied the flute or the two-stringed tambura at weddings or other festive occasions. It was donated to the Museum in 1921.
