Description

The transverse flute strajnčica, a single labial flute, made of maple wood. Six finger-holes and one air hole are drilled on the front side. It is ornamented with burnt motifs shaped as dots and circular dashes.

Note

The instrument was made in the Gereci family - they were famous single and double flute makers. The decorative motifs are drawn as three rings on three sections (upper, middle and bottom), and dots are made around the air inlet so as to form a flower. When the instrument was brought to the Museum, a wooden cork was inserted on the upper side of the pipe so the instrument would not be played, and in order to only use it for exhibitions.
