Description

The triple flute, a three-pipe labial monoxyle flute, crafted from one block of maple wood. The holes are arranged in the same way as in the double flute (seven finger-holes, four on the right side, and tree on the left side), there are no finger-holes on the third pipe.

Note

The triple flute was made by a member of the Gereci family. Triple flutes were rarely crafted, but they were crafted for the same reason as all the other flutes - for shepherd’s music. The common name for single, double, triple and quadruple labial instruments from Bistrički and Stubički Laz is “žveglice”. The item was purchased in Kaptol, Zagreb. The flutes from Stubički and Bistrički Laz were regularly sold at fairs in Zagreb.
