Description

The fife, a single labial fife, is crafted from wood. It is turned and ornamented with three “knots”. The “knots” divide it into two parts. A single hole is drilled on the upper section, and six finger-holes are drilled on the bottom section. The air inlet is the same as the air outlet. The upper section of the fife cracked lengthwise. It is dark brown.

Note

The fife was used as a shepherd’s instrument. We can find this type of the fife in north-west Croatia, or, to be more precise, in Zagorje.
