Description

The bukkehorn is made of goat horn. This is the procedure: a whole horn is taken off a goat’s head, cleaned inside and out, and a part of the tip is cut. Three holes are drilled on the horn which enables playing various tones.

Note

The sound the bukkehorn makes is very intense, and in order to play specific melodies, a specific skill is necessary for blowing. The bukkehorn is usually played by women or girls because it is them who normally herd goats.
