The Collection of Musical Instruments

Description

The double flute - dvojenice, a twin-bore labial monoxyle flute, crafted from one block of wood and ornamented by burning and carving. The holes are arranged 5:5.

Note

The double flute - dvojenice was purchased in 1912. Josip Barbalić sold the instrument at a fair in Rijeka. The instrument was played in Dobrina on the island of Krk, where it was purchased by Božidar Širola for the Museum. The instrument arrived to the Museum in 1922 owing to Zvonimir Ljevaković.
