Description

The large flute is made of one piece of wood. After the right piece of wood is chosen, it is fashioned by chiseling, a reed is cut and a hole for playing is drilled. There are six holes for playing, and Kuhač wrote the tone each one makes - from higher tones to lower (Fis - empty; E; D; C; H; A; G). The holes are drilled and burned.

Note

The large flute tones are somewhat deeper than that of a regular flute. This instrument was given to Kuhač by Roko Djakovac from Viljevo, who made and played this flute, usually while herding horses and cows.
