The Collection of Musical Instruments
The short kaval, a single labial fife, crafted from one block of plum wood. The instrument is turned, drilled and ornamented in damascening. There are six holes on the front side, and on the back side there is an air-hole at the very top.
The short kaval was most likely used as a shepherd’s instrument.
